The British Model Flying Association (BMFA) serves as the National Governing Body for the sport of model flying in the United Kingdom. Its primary objectives include the protection, promotion, organisation, and encouragement of model flying activities across the country. The association boasts over 750 affiliated clubs and a collective membership nearing 30,000 individuals, all united in their commitment to ensure that model aircraft and drone enthusiasts have a recognised voice and their rights acknowledged by relevant authorities.
The authority for the BMFA to fulfil these responsibilities is derived from the Royal Aero Club, established in 1922, as well as the Civil Aviation Authority and the UK Sports Councils.
